Postgraduate studies

One of my life goals is to live out of Chile in future, in some country where quality of life is considerately better. It's even better if this country have a real welfare society. And, if is possible, I would like to study a PhD degree in this country.

In particular, I really am attracted to University of Toronto’s Pharmaceutical Sciences PhD program, in Biomolecular Pharmaceutical Sciences.

This PhD program has many aspects that interest me. For example, you can specialize in biopharmaceuticals study, an up to date subject in the rest of the world, but not much developed in Chile. If I get this PhD degree, I would research about new biopharmaceuticals development, and this field of activity likes me so much. Other very interesting fields of study are: “Basic pharmacokinetics and clinical research”,” Polymeric and nanomaterial-based drug delivery systems” and “Drug receptor interactions”.

Even though this PhD program has different ways of entering, I interest by “PhD (full-time) after completing a MSc” modality, because it requires less time to get PhD degree, but is necessary to get MSc in the same university.

Of course, for enter to this PhD program I would have to move to Toronto. I really like this idea. I think Canada is a country with a great quality of life, a rich culture, and it offers a lot of opportunities for personal development.

"3 idiots", my favourite movie.

Hi again! Usually I'm very selective for choose the movies I see. When a movie appeals me, I worry about investigate its argument and cast. But, there is not what happened when I saw my favourite picture: it was only coincidence. "3 idiots" is an 2009 Indian movie, classified as a coming-of-age comedy-drama. This movie mixes comedy, drama and romance, in a musical. It tells the story of three boys who be accepted in the most prestigious engineering school of Delhi, the Imperial College of Engineering. The protagonist is Rancho (perform by Aamir Khan), a very special boy. His origin is unknown, and his behaviour is hilarious. His adventures with Farhan (R. Madhavan) and Raju (Sharman Joshi ) facing the rigorousness of been studying in one of the best engineer school of the world, is a fluctuation of feelings, carrying to the spectators from the most senseless comedy to the deeper sadness , always singing. This film have a little bit of fable, with a lot of morals...

Changes to my study program

Hi everyone! This is our last blog session, so I want to take this opportunity to say goodbye. It has been a pleasure to read your posts and comments. The career of Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals in this university has had many changes, principally with study program changes. Like all change, there are modifications that mean important advances in the professional development of the students, while another changes, I think, are a setback. One of the things I didn’t like about study program changes is the omission of teacher Hernan Vergara’s subjects.   Teacher Vergara’s subjects (who’s actually retired), promoted the basic knowledge of our profession in the first career years. Matters as concepts of medicines, their classification and effects, therapies and related laws are basic knowledge that all students must to know. And, of course, I think all the students must to know about the History of Pharmacy, with the most important landmarks. Among the good study progr...
